Introduction to Domain Computer
If you are logging into the ASNTDOMAIN1 domain, this will give you some info about services available to you, and managing your password.
Passwords
Your username to log into your computer should be the same as your Onyen. HOWEVER, the domain password and the Onyen password is NOT the same and do not currently automatically update when you change one or the otherWe recommend you change the domain password when ever you change the Onyen password and visa versa. (You'll notice there is also a link toward the top left of all pages on oasis.unc.edu where you can change your domain password)
Note: We are working on migrating to a new domain that will sync the passwords up. You can follow the progress here.Z-Drive
You may notice that when you click on "My Computer" there is now a "Z-drive." This is a secure filer space where you can store documents and other important data. This data is backed up on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis. We recommend keeping all your documents here.
By default Faculty members have 2GB , Staff have 1GB and graduate students have 500MB. You can read more about your Z-drive, including accessing it from home and on other computers here: http://help.unc.edu/6563Citrix Applications
Your domain account also gives you access to a citrix server where many commonly used applications can be run. You can access the citrix server from any web browser at http://oasis.unc.edu/citrix.Note:
The first time you log in you will be required to download a local client to run the citrix server. It works best in Internet Explorer. Just follow the onscreen instructions after you log in.
