Research Computing
- The research computing area is an effort to provide a bridge between services that are provided by ITS and the needs of various kinds of research activities across the College. This nascent group is currently mapping out the "universe" of technological research needs, tools, and campus-provided resources so as to arrive at a set of technological solutions that OASIS could be in a position to provide long-term.

-
VPN Service
- A Virtual Private Network (VPN) provides an encrypted connection (secure tunnel) from outside networks or Internet Service Providers (ISPs) to the UNC-Chapel Hill internal network. UNC has installed a Cisco VPN concentrator that allows authorized users to access network resources from off campus using an ISP dial-in, DSL or cable modem service with Onyen authentication. You can work securely, just as if you were physically on campus.
