Flu Proof your Course

Posted by Jeff VanDrimmelen at Sep 28, 2009 04:50 PM |

Looking for a way to encourage students NOT to come to class and spread the flu. Here are a couple of technology options for you to remotely share your class with your students.

Sharing Anytime

No matter what your platform you can share your audio, powerpoints, and screen captures via blackboard and iTunesU.

PC Recommendation

Use Audacity to record the audio of your class from your computer.  Share your PowerPoint presentations from the class for students to follow along.

Mac Recommendation

Podcast Capture - Build into OS X.5 and above.  Just do a spotlight search for it.  You can record your computer screen, as well as the audio of a class as you teach it.

Audacity to record the audio of the class and share the powerpoint presentation.

Share Live

If you have students that are able to participate during class time we have a screen broadcasting software called Teamviewer

so you can broadcast your computer to 15 other computers (mac or pc).

You can also set up a free conference call at FreeConferenceCall.com

to get multiple students in the same audio room at the same time.

Getting Help

Please submit a help request at http://oasis.unc.edu/remedy if you have any questions, or would like some assistance with the options above.
