Remap Keys on Keyboards - Great for Netbooks

Posted by Jeff VanDrimmelen at Sep 30, 2009 03:33 PM |

Do you have a Netbook and keep hitting the up arrow instead of the shift key. You can easily remap that up arrow, or any other key to be a shift key with a program called SharpKeys.

Sharpkeys os one of many free key remapping softwares available for a PC.  It has a nice editor window that allows you to simply click a key you want to remap, click the key you want it to be.  You then save it and restart your computer and you are good to go.  No more wrong keys!

Download SharpKeys here

Note 1: You will need Microsoft .net Framework 2.0 installed on your computer in order to run this program.

Note 2: This program only works on regular type keys, not the laptop specific keys like the Fn button, and other special keys.  Just try it out if you want to find out which one's work.

Please feel free to submit a help request at http://oasis.unc.edu/remedy if you would like some help with this.
