LDOC is quickly approaching, Tar Heels! In preparation for summer, we’ve created a list of tips to ease your transition back to UNC in the fall.

  • Check your password expiration. If it will expire over the summer, it may be easier to change it early so that you don’t get locked out of your computer or a critical system when you’re away from campus.
  • Give yourself at least 48 hours to check that your password still works and that you are still connected to Eduroam – this will help minimize any delays on the first day of class.
  • Make sure that you can also access Office 365. Log in to heelmail.unc.edu and authenticate your device at least 48 hours before classes begin.
  • LEAVE YOUR COMPUTER ON – if you will be gone for the summer, put your office computer to sleep instead of turning it off. Updates will be automatically applied for you.
  • If you apply your computer updates yourself, be aware that upgrades to Mac OS could cause problems on your device. Give yourself time to make sure everything works properly afterward if you choose to upgrade.
