Sliders/Carousels

Image sliders are interactive components on a webpage that display a series of images, one at a time, in a sequential or rotating fashion. Users can typically navigate through these images by clicking on arrows, buttons, or dots within the slider, or the images may automatically transition at set intervals. This feature allows for a dynamic presentation of multiple pieces of content (like photographs, graphics, or advertisements) without requiring a lot of space on the page. Sliders are often used on homepages to highlight featured content, products, or important information.
Carousel Symbolizing Image Carousels/Sliders

We are no longer using or creating image carousels and/or sliders primarily for accessibility reasons and their lack of effectiveness. Here is an article from School of Medicine at UNC Chapel Hill that goes in depth why carousels/sliders are being phased out.
